At Brown Baby Books, we believe in the power of diverse literature. Our mission is to empower young Black readers through joyful, relatable stories that build confidence with every sight word. Here we celebrate our culture while building reading skills-sight word by sight word.
Behind The Brand
Hi! I’m a young Black mom, a first-time author, and most importantly, a follower of Jesus Christ. This book series was born from both love and purpose. While teaching my own children how to read, I realized something was missing—sight word books that truly reflected them.
Page after page, I saw stories that didn’t celebrate their skin, their joy, or their everyday lives. I knew in my heart—led by God—that I had to be the one to change that.
That’s why I created this series: to empower young readers through familiar words, joyful stories, and characters who look like them. These books are more than just tools for reading—they’re mirrors, affirmations, and a celebration of Black brilliance from the very beginning.
This is just the start, and I’m so glad you’re here.
